The Bible is clear…love your enemies! ” That might be news to some and “old hat” to others. We should also “pray for our enemies.” The question is: “How do we do such a difficult thing?” Just get started with prayer and do it! Hate takes a lot of energy. Your blood pressure will go up and down and difficult to regulate. Love is not an emotion of the weak. Matter of fact, love is the strongest emotion ever. Love can calm the heart and change minds for the better. International and National meetings can carry a stream of love. Hearts can be changed through love. That’s why we have God. When God created human beings (men and women) He didn’t create them to hate each other. The inherent emotion of “choice” brought into the picture a response differently from what God desired. When Satan saw that God had created mankind, he became “jealous.” He planned to destroy man from the beginning. But, God determined that His creation would not be utterly destroyed. Man (man and woman) didn’t want to worship God. Man wanted “to take the place of God and to be God!” We can see for ourselves that man does not know and will never be able to replace God! If man knew so much more than God, why would he wrestling with the multiple pestilences, wars and diseases innumerable to count, name or document. Several passages speak to the “jealousy” of God: Joshua 24:19; Deuteronomy 4:24 “For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God; Deuteronomy 29:19; Exodus 20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down yourself to false gods, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God,”… Exodus 34:14 “ You shall worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:” His name is jealous or impassioned. He is the impassioned God. Someone asks, “Well, why are the coronavirus and its variants allowed to taunt us? That’s a good question. God has to get our attention! Things have gone too far. Even those who ae supposed to serve God or they say that they do in fact serve him, but for too many, it is only lip service….not serving Him from the heart. Wow! Aren’t we disappointed when we read sad stories about the church. The good news is that when Jesus Christ came we still have opportunities for salvation. He doesn’t give up on us. What we do not want is for God to go into a jealous rage! Yup. He can do that! His anger can be kindled to a boiling point and as the scriptures say “boiling pot” (Jeremiah 1:13). But, if people and onlookers refuse to change their minds and hearts to obey God and take Him seriously, His anger can become like a fire to righteous anger. How do we know that this is not what is happening?! Many strange things are going on. Yup. We don’t want Him to come up against the Nations or the World with famine, or sword! Therefore, let us not flaunt our detestable behavior in His face. He loathes it. We already have the worldwide coronavirus spreading!!!!!! Thanks for reading!
