
The NAACP honored the outstanding achievements of nominees for the 55th NAACP Image Awards across various entertainment mediums, including film, television, music, literature, and podcasts, during its Nominees Brunch held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
The event, which took place on February 25, featured appearances from renowned figures in the industry, adding to the anticipation of the upcoming awards ceremony set to air live on March 16, on BET and CBS from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The Nominees Brunch, emceed by TBS “Friday Night Vibes” co-hosts Nina Parker and Kevin Fredericks (KevOnStage), was a vibrant celebration of talent, diversity, and creativity. The atmosphere was electric as more than 130 nominees gathered on stage for a special class photo, commemorating their remarkable contributions to their respective fields.
Among the notable guests were Aml Ameen, Garcelle Beauvais, Glynn Turman, Jabari Banks, Jeremy Piven, Keith Powers, Kyla Pratt, Lucky Daye, Mara Brock Akil, Roy Wood Jr., Vic Mensa, William Stanford Davis, and many others.
The event commenced with inspiring remarks from NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson and Vice Chair of the NAACP Board of Directors Karen Boykin-Towns, who commended the nominees for their accomplishments. Pastor Brenda Palmer delivered an invocation, setting a tone of gratitude and reflection, followed by a soul-stirring performance by gospel artist Pastor Mike Jr.
Reflecting on the significance of the NAACP’s mission, Johnson emphasized the organization’s longstanding commitment to advocating for a society that values and recognizes the contributions of the Black community. Boykin-Towns echoed this sentiment, highlighting the pivotal role of creativity in advancing social justice and equality.

Co-hosts Fredericks an Parker injected energy into the proceedings with a lively gospel karaoke competition, featuring select Image Awards nominees singing beloved gospel classics. The event concluded with anticipation for the upcoming telecast of the 55th NAACP Image Awards, where winners across various categories will be revealed.
The NAACP Image Awards, now in its 55th year, continues to serve as a platform for celebrating excellence and promoting diversity in the entertainment industry. In addition to the televised ceremony, the NAACP will recognize winners in non-televised categories virtually and during special events leading up to the awards night.
