How long, O Lord, shall the children of Abraham besiege one another with affliction and atrocities? Truth be told, just like being anti-apartheid and anti-Christian was mutually exclusive, so too are anti-Zionism and antisemitism mutually exclusive! Utilizing a perverted and distorted combination of White Anglo-Saxon ideology and Christian Zionism, the ongoing U.S. and European funded genocidal acts by the apartheid state of Israel in Gaza, and the zionist-influenced settlers in the West Bank are no doubt moral calamities with the possibility of WW III repercussions.
Our collective quest for human liberation must include decolonizing Judaism from Zionism! Silence is compliance! Neutrality advances tragedy! Acquiescence greenlights atrocities! Prayers-UP for comfort, protection, and a just peace where the right to freedom and safety can affirm humanity, advance dignity, and realize equitable belonging for everyone.
As a Black South African, I know something about what I see happening in Gaza and the West Bank. I know something about what I see because of my visit with Palestinians in Hebron, Jerusalem, and the community of Wadi Fakun, a Palestinian village in the West Bank, located eight kilometers southwest of Bethlehem. Between its inception in 1896 and its culmination in 1948, the US, UK and European supported settler colonization and displacement, occupation and thievery of Palestinians and their land, has been apartheid on steroids!
In collaboration with western military might, the current escalation is a continuation of this plot and plan for structural displacement and systemic emigration through terror and trauma fueled by the supremacist ideology and heretical theology of Zionism. In the face of such blatant bombardment of homes, hospitals, churches and communities, our moral conscience must rise above the threats and propaganda, deception and bribery. Our moral conscience must never be bought nor bossed by the far-reaching tentacles of Zionism. Prayers-UP for a lasting ceasefire as a pathway to end settler colonization, occupation, and mass incarceration of Palestinians from apartheid Israel’s authoritarian government.
The apartheid state of Israel cannot beat nor bomb an occupation out of existence, except through its ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing to advance its settler colonization enterprise. Now more than ever, we must continue resisting settler colonization and continue to fight for the freedom of Palestinians and all people experiencing historic occupation and various forms of genocide.
As people of moral conscience with a shared faith rooted in Abraham, and as followers of a liberative Jesus from Palestine, it is essential that we continue to re-imagine and re-position our moral might and soul force with abolition as its framework and emancipation as its destination. This includes our quest for human liberation, inclusive of decolonizing Judaism from zionism, through bold bridging and equitable belonging in the safety of radical solidarity! The U.S. government has moved from an inflection point to a point of deflection. Fueled by convenient amnesia and intoxicated by the BIG ZIONIST LIE, this point of deflection is where hypocrisy and schizophrenia collide head-on!! The results are triple standards and forked-tongue diplomacy backed-up by military might. This is pretty much how neo-liberals and progressives respond to the BIG LIE in the U.S. as well!!
Enough of the deception about, and denial of this horrific history. It is essential that we tell the whole story – tell the truth! The blind complicity and bold indifference of western governments are both appalling and immoral!
The political impasse from our local, county, state and national leaders is tacit approval to the ongoing genocidal acts and atrocities inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The ongoing deliberate displacement and forceful removal of Palestinians and the obliteration of Palestinian lives, families and communities are immoral and crimes against humanity. I look forward to a return visit with my Palestinian siblings in Wadi Fakun.
Amid this existential crisis, TRUTH delayed, will eventually rise to lead the painful path to our collective liberation. Like apartheid, Zionism cannot be reformed. As we did with apartheid, we must persist in exposing and crippling, disrupting and eventually destroying the supremacist ideology and heretical theology of Zionism!!
The moral arc of history is long, but it eventually will bend towards a free and liberated Palestine.
