The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (Metro) contractor Walsh/Shea Corridor Constructors (WSCC) will implement five nights of lane closures on the I-405 freeway beginning Monday, June 5, as construction of the light-rail bridge for the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Project continues moving forward.
The lane closures are needed for the safe removal of the exterior edge wood framing used to help build the new light rail bridge over the 405. The nightly lane closures will be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Two lanes will be closed each night.
The southbound lanes will have five nights of closures between the La Cienega and Manchester off-ramps from Monday, June 5, through Saturday, June 10. Portable changeable message signs will be posted prior to lane reduction. The California Highway Patrol will oversee the lane reductions. The High Occupancy Vehicle lanes will also be closed.
Construction is a dynamic process and information is subject to change without notice. Work activity is also subject to weather conditions.

The 8.5-mile Crenshaw/LAX Line is a $2.058 billion light-rail line that will connect the Green Line and the Expo Line. It will have eight new stations to serve the Crenshaw, Inglewood and LAX communities. It is expected to open in 2019.
