L.A. Sentinel Top 5 Grammy Parties for 2017!

You just missed Essence Magazines 8th Annual Black Women in music which took place Thursday but you still have time for other parties, if you can get in and find the location! Our suggestion is Grammy-award winning Lalah Hathaway, the odds are better and you’re definitely in for a Grammy treat! This list is in no particular order.

1. Essence 8th Annual Black Women in Music
NeueHouse Hollywood, 6121 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, 7:30 p.m.
Erykah Badu headlines the mag’s event this year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her breakout smash Baduizm. Also taking the stage at the Lincoln-sponsored concert will be Nigerian artist Tiwa Savage while other confirmed guests include Chante Adams, Zazie Beetz, Beverly Bond, Chance the Rapper, Chloe & Halle, Kiersey Clemons, Ava DuVernay, Estelle, Goapele, Ledisi, Rene Marie, Melina Matsoukas, Kelly Rowland, Serayah, Sherri Shepherd, Rhapsody and others.


2. Lalah Hathaway + Friends
Troubador, 9081 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood, 7 p.m.

3. Clive Davis and The Recording Academy’s annual Pre-Grammy Gala
Beverly Hilton Hotel, 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills
The music mogul teams with the Academy for the starry VIP event. Feted at the 2017 event will be BET Networks chairman and CEO Debra L. Lee, who follows in the footsteps of previous honorees like Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, Irving Azoff, Sir Richard Branson, David Geffen, Berry Gordy, Sir Lucian Grainge, and L.A. Reid. The Pre-Grammy Gala is sponsored by Hilton, Mastercard, JBL by Harman and Delta Air Lines. Confirmed attendees so far include Taraji P. Henson, Michael Keaton, Quincy Jones, Metallica, Chance the Rapper, Maxwell, Britney Spears and Rita Ora.

4. Roc Nation
Private location
The label’s pre-Grammy brunch returns, hosting the Roc Nation Family and additional expected celebrity guests like Big Sean, Common, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Nick Jonas, Demi Lovato, Todd Gurly, Gavin Rossdale, HAIM, T.I., Pusha T and Chance The Rapper. This year’s event is sponsored by Citi, Barclays Center and Audemars Piguet with a specials by D’USSÉ, Armand de Brignac, H.D. Buttercup, Devialet, sbe and LIFEWTR.

5. Global Citizen & Tidal
Private location, 7-11 p.m.
The two party partners are hosting guests for “an intimate celebration of art, activism and advocacy.”
