Katina Holliday, founder of Holliday’s Helping Hands (HHH), started Daughters of Destiny in 2021 after being inspired by running a weekly national prayer line with other women. Holliday created Daughters of Destiny to uplift communities of women by providing opportunities to connect them to Jesus.

The Daughters of Destiny event was called “Fix Your Crown and Walk into Your Destiny” and occurred last Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Liberty Church in Gardena.

“No matter where life takes you, your history does not determine your future. You take your history as a learning lesson. It’s definitely to give them a sense of hope and fulfillment that something is greater for you if you just stay the course and stay committed to whatever that is,” Holliday said.

The panelists for the event alongside Holliday included Rosie Rivera, Kenya Geary, Anita Scott, Rachelle McClendon-Alexander and Angela White, also known in the entertainment world as Blac Chyna.

White was an essential choice for Holliday because of her connection and influence on a younger crowd. Holliday hoped that White could help bring more lives to Christ.

“Instagram, Facebook and all those things influence the young generation a little bit differently. If they can see that, from her path from where she came from, it’s not where she ended up,” Holliday said. “We feel like it would inspire somebody to say, ‘You know what, if she can do it, so can I.’”

White recently underwent a “make-under” in which she dissolved the filler in her face, removed her breast implants, and modified her wardrobe. She has also been vocal about her faith-based journey to a happier life.

White said that her journey of getting closer to Jesus has been fulfilling, so this event hit home for her. She credits her faith-based life for helping her sit back, take a look, breathe, pray and be grateful for what she has in the moment.

“Miss Holliday is a remarkable woman. Her organization, Holliday’s Helping Hands, provides interim housing for our most valuable population in Los Angeles; that alone is amazing, so when I was asked to be a part of this event, I jumped on the opportunity—I was so excited,” White said.

White said that sharing her experience with Miss. Holliday and other women made her feel good to spread a message of hope and love. She felt that with all that was happening in the world, she wanted to take the time at the event to share an encouraging word.

Holliday’s Helping Hands is hosting its 2nd Annual “Shining Through Service” Black Tie Gala on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at The Mayborne Beverly Hills. There will be entertainment,  a silent auction, and plans to honor people who are helping those experiencing homelessness, including influencer Charlie Rocket, one of their Home Depot partners who has given them over $30,000 for their outreach in Mississippi and last but certainly not least, Mayor Karen Bass for her homeless initiative that she’s done in Los Angeles.
