Congresswoman Karen Bass joined James Fugate, owner of Eso Won Books, at recent book buy event led by Bass, who is also leading the race to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.  Explaining her motivation for reaching out to the bookstore, she said “Eso Won Books announcing that they will close at the end of the year hit us hard. Today, I brought more than 50 community members to show support for one of the premier Black-owned bookstores in L.A. Thank you for your decades of service to our neighborhood.” Karen Bass is the only candidate running for mayor with a plan to help small businesses in our communities. (Courtesy photo)
