The Kaiser Baldwin Hills Crenshaw facility recently held a community open house event on Saturday, August 26. The open house garnered roughly 2,500 people for tours of the facility. There were several vendor booths, a rock climbing wall, a bouncy house, face painting, food trucks, free fitness classes (yoga, line dancing), a cooking demonstration, and a program in which elected officials spoke. Some of the elected officials in attendance included: Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas and Diane Watson (former US Representative for California’s 33rd congressional district). Kaiser Baldwin Hills Crenshaw physician-in-charge, Dr. Erique Emel, a pediatrician, also greeted and spoke to attendees at the open house.
