Reno Williams

Funeral services are pending for Reno Williams, an elite member and instructor with the Professional Community Interventionist Training Institute (PCITI), who lost his life over the weekend in a single car accident following a late night patrol with a colleague in Los Angeles.

Williams, 53, served as an instructor with the PCITI, a “proactive, situational-based” academy that trains and certifies community frontline “Peacekeepers” and city and county emergency responders.  Williams, who after spending nearly 28 years in prison, was on a mission to do the right thing when he died in the line of duty.

Not only did he train new candidates, he also represented the organization on panels that took place at community forums.  Williams work was recently highlighted on an NBC-4 News segment.

The PCITI will honor Williams with the ‘Supreme Salute’ for what he stood for; his commitment to the mission, the integrity he brought to the work; and most importantly, the legacy he leaves.  He will be greatly missed by his PCITI family and by the many in the communities he served.  All PCITI badges will be ‘Black Striped’ until further notice.
