BLACK IN THE GREEN ROOM – Jasmine Guy Wins First Emmy Award!

Jasmine Guy starred as “Whitley Gilbert” in the late 1980s and early 1990s hit television sitcom “A Different World.”  But she never won an Emmy for that iconic role. While on the red carpet for the 75th Emmy Awards in 2024, Guy told former “A Different World” costar Darryl M. Bell, with tears in her eyes as she hugged him, “This is our Emmy.”

DeP has since earned a Best Contemporary Christian Music Album Grammy Award as a member of Kanye West’s “Sunday Service Choir” on the album “Jesus is King.” He was also nominated for a second Grammy for his work on Beyonce’s song “Spirit,” which is on “The Lion King” soundtrack.

Brandon Rainey’s ‘Love Game’ Explores Love and Its Complexities

Presented by CBG Arts & White Hall Arts Academy, on Saturday, April 13th, guests filled the Hudson Theatre Coffee Shop in Hollywood to enjoy writer and director Brandon Rainey’s (B Rainey Productions) latest production, Love Game. This urban stage play was written by Rainey, production managed by Howard University Alumni Jonathan Lucas, and featured a very talented cast.
