The Women’s History Month Committee at El Camino College is seeking candidates for the 2017 Distinguished Women’s Wall of Fame.

The Women of Distinction Award recognizes outstanding women from the El Camino College area, honoring them for their contributions to the community. Honorees are selected by the committee each year during March – Women’s History Month.

Award nominations may be made by friends, family, and colleagues; or individuals may nominate themselves. Nominees will be judged for their contributions in the following areas that align with this year’s National Women’s History Month theme, Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor & Business: professional accomplishments; leadership and/or mentorship; and social, educational, or health services.

Those nominated must live or work in the communities within the El Camino Community College District: El Segundo, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Lennox, Inglewood, Hawthorne, and Torrance.

The nomination deadline is March 1. The leaders will be honored at the Women’s History Month Luncheon set for March 17 in the El Camino College East Dining Room. Honorees will also be featured on the El Camino College Distinguished Women’s Wall of Fame throughout the year and their names will be engraved on a plaque that remains on the wall permanently.
