Rapper Drake will receive an “Artist of the Decade” award at this month’s Billboard Music Awards ceremony in downtown Los Angeles, show producers announced today.

The award is based on “activity on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums tally, as well as social media data and touring revenue from Billboard Boxscore” over the past decade.

Drake already holds the title for most Billboard Music Awards, with 27. He took home 12 awards in 2019 alone.

According to Billboard, Drake is the only male solo artist to spend more than 50 career weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He has also had nine number-one albums on the Billboard 200 chart and 33 top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the most of any artist over the past decade.

The Billboard Music Awards, hosted by Nick Jonas, will be presented May 23 at the Microsoft Theater.
