On Friday, September 27, the Los Angeles Philharmonic (LA Phil) resumed its beloved neighborhood concert series with a free performance at Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA). Led by the LA Phil’s Assistant Conductor, Rodolfo Barráez, the orchestra delighted the audience with a dynamic program. The concert featured a mix of chamber music by Debussy, William Grant Still, and others, followed by an exuberant exploration of dance music from around the world.

The performance also highlighted the incredible talents of Ray Ushikubo, a violin soloist and current student at the Colburn School, whose contributions to the program brought added energy and artistry. This event marked a continuation of the LA Phil’s ongoing commitment to making the arts accessible to all Angelenos, regardless of their location or background.
