Twenty-five years in the heart of the hairdressing industry, DaRico Jackson’s work has been featured on television and film stars appearing in projects such as Love That Girl (TVOne), The Wendy Williams Show, CSI Miami, and “Why Did I Get Married Too”.

Although Jackson maintains a steady stream of celebrity clients he has always regarded his ability to educate as a strength, teaching for varies companies and other clients. He has appeared in publications such as Black Hair Sophisticates, Modern Salon, Ebony,Upscale and LA Magazine to name a few.

An artist at heart, Jackson decided to change his career path as a business management major to attending National Academy of Beauty Arts.

From the beginning of his career as a hair stylist, Rico was determined to do more. He offered his client’s innovative hair designs that were unique to their personality and day-to-day needs. He quickly carved out a niche for himself in the St. Louis market and instantly gained a large and faithful clientele, including local stylists who wanted to know the secrets to his success.

Seeking another outlet for his creative energy led Rico to open a short lived retail shoe store, Soul Mate Shoe Salon. However, instead of being defeated, DaRico turned the failed shoe store into an opportunity by converting the space into Fusion Hair Salon, an eclectic, upscale experience with a neo soul vibe.

DaRico relocated to Los Angeles in 2003, and landed at the renowned Elgin Charles Salon of Beverly Hills. Within months he was Shaquille O’Neal’s official media stylist for commercials, endorsements and television shows. As the makeover reality TV craze took hold, DaRico was a natural for shows like “A Second Look,” “How Do I Look” and “Renovate My Family.”

Before long his portfolio was full of fashion and entertainment work and collaborations with some of the industries greats such as make-up artist Joanne Gair, and photographers Andrew Matusik and Nadia Pandolofo.
His celebrity clientele includes Tasha Smith, Michael Ealy, Tichina Arnold, Raven Simone, Paula Abdul, Dawn Robinson, Lorraine Toussaint, Eartha Kitt, Dianne Shur, Tanya Blaunt, Trinity 5:7, and Cherelle.

Despite his busy schedule, DaRico stays focused on his goals. “My gifts are a blessing to be thankful for” he says, “I never want to take my life for granted”.
