The Major Taylor Cycling Club Los Angeles will hold a fundraiser to aid the track team at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles.  It is a local bicycle club whose members love to ride their bikes locally, in other states and even in other countries.  Major Taylor Cycling Club Los Angeles became a 501(c)3 in 2018 to share their love of cycling as well as to assist their community in becoming healthy and happy through community involvement.

Major Taylor Cycling Club Los Angeles (MTCCLA) is named in honor of American cycling legend Marshall Walter “Major” Taylor. In 1899, Taylor won the One Mile Track Sprint World Championship and the Half-Mile Sprint World Championship in Montreal, Canada.

With his victory, Major Taylor became the first African American world champion in any sport while facing major adversity due to his color.  There are Major Taylor cycling clubs all across the U.S. and abroad.

Major Taylor Los Angeles got the word that the Dorsey High School track team needed help getting equipment and uniforms and decided this would be an excellent opportunity to assist some youth right here in our community who are working hard along with their dedicated coaches, Ken Matthews and Sydney Harris.

On Sunday, March 10, the club is holding a fundraiser ride to raise funds for the Dorsey High School track team.  They are riding through the community to introduce everyone to the youth and to raise funds along the way.  There will be a longer ride for those who need to.

Help the Dorsey High School Track Team get to the Podium by using the payment methods below to make a donation!  $15.00 is our minimum donation.

We are hoping to raise enough funds so all that the students have to do is focus on being the best student-athletes they can be.

Donate via at Venom, @mtccla501c3, CashApp $mtccla501c3 or Zelle: 310-621-2815
