The Crenshaw High School Alumni Association will be hosting a gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of the beloved alma mater Saturday October 13, 2018 at the Westdrift Hotel 1400 Parkview Avenue, Manhattan Beach. The sold out event will be hosted by noted KJLH on air personality, Adai Lamar. Additionally, the 50th Anniversary celebration serves as the inaugural Crenshaw Hall of Fame induction honoring a cross section of notable (some famous) alumni for their diverse contributions to society ranging from academia, arts, athletics, and entertainment to philanthropy and politics.
Celebrity Hall of Fame inductees slated to attend this illustrious milestone event include: American Ninja Warrior co-host Akbar Gbaja Biamila; city of Inglewood Mayor, the honorable James Butts; famed DJ Bobby “Bobcat Ervin”; George Johnson of the Brothers Johnson; renown former Milwaukee Bucks star Marques Johnson; along with retired Super Bowl champion Wendell Tyler; and the indelible retired Crenshaw High School basketball coach, Willie West.
Gala Committee Chairman Craig Hart decrees “this momentous occasion celebrating the 50 year history of Crenshaw High School promises to be an unbelievably memorable evening that will undoubtedly solidify the “Shaw’s” outstanding legacy of Passion Resiliency Inspiration Dedication and Empowerment”.
