Bishop Paul A. G. Stewart, Sr., presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District of the CME Church, will virtually convene the Southern California Region’s 2020 Mid-Winter Council.
The annual event will take place via Zoom from Dec. 10 through Dec. 11. The theme is “Getting Back to Basics as We Envision Our Way Forward by Disciplining Others in Ministries.” The Rev. Travis A. Morris, presiding elder of the L.A.-San Diego District and the host pastor of Lewis Metropolitan CME Church, and the Rev. Dr. Mark Hardin, presiding elder of the L.A. District, will assist Bishop Stewart during the conference.
The agenda will include worship services, business session and training workshops. Among the participants are the Rev. Jackquline Maye, who will deliver the meditation; the Rev. Dr. Hardin, who will serve as worship leader; the Rev. Dr. Darrell J. Wesley, who will preach the sermon; and the Rev. Dr. James E. Markham, who will facilitate the training.
