The 13th annual Taste of Soul Family Festival is just two days away. For the past few months, Bakewell Media has released the new and returning food vendors, information on the Leaders Up job fair, and the hottest entertainment on the Hyundai Soundstage, the 102.3 KJLH stage and the 94.7 the Wave stage. However, kids need a place to let loose and have fun too, which is why Bakewell Media is announcing the return of Children’s World.
For five years in a row, Children’s World host and founder of the School Tour, Randy Hankins, has brought amazing entertainment to local youth with performances by Artiistri, DJ Kiss, Mayseo The Magaician, BoomSquad, Prince of LA, KnsRocStar, and the DWA Drumline.
While this year’s entertainment has yet to be announced, Children’s World is working with volunteers from Bank of America to put on a painting class and chess tutors to show the children how to play chess.
Children’s World is about more than just games, prizes and activities. Bakewell Media understands the importance of education and students having all the powerful tools they need to thrive during the school year. With that being said, Bakewell Media has asked the non-profit organization Vision to Learn, to bring their vision mobile clinic to Children’s World. The day of Taste of Soul, children can now receive a free eye screening along with a free pair of glasses to give them the confidence they need to step back in the classroom.
This opportunity was made possible by the Plenary Group who donated their Taste of Soul booth space to Vision to Learn.
Additionally, the Taste of Soul Family Festival prides itself in being a safe and fun event for all. To ensure the safety of children who visit Children’s World, there will be ID kits provided by “Kids are 1st.” These kits will help parents and guardians locate their child should they go missing during the festival.
