Deacon Webb was born March 24, 1937. He was employed for 37 years with the Compton School District and served in a range of capacities including administrator at Dominguez, Compton and Caesar Chavez High Schools. “He was a role model for students and served as a father figure to many,” recalled his wife, Mrs. Katie Haire Webb.

Actively involved in his church and community, Webb served as chairman of the Deacon Board at Messiah Baptist, president of the Grambling State University Alumni Association, president of the Laymen Auxiliary of the Western Baptist State Convention and president of the Congress of Christian Education for the Los Angeles District Association. “He was known as a Christian Education Teacher par excellence,” said Mrs. Webb
