Jimmie Lee Ganter Sr passed in peace Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the age of 77.
Jimmie was born on July 25, 1943 in Bastrop, Louisiana to Henry and Joeann Ganter. He was a twin and one of three children.
His parents relocated to California when Jimmie was a young child. He was raised in the city of Compton, achieving his Diploma of Graduation from Centennial Senior High School in 1961.
Jimmie later married Erma Jean Bell in Los Angeles, California on April 13, 1964. On July 14, 1964 and October 6, 1971 respectively, he welcomed his two sons Jimmy Lee Ganter Jr and Antrone Lamont Ganter.
Jimmie succeeded as a skilled laborer beginning his career at General Motors in May 1963. He ranked multiple positions and retired as a tenured Supervisor in July 2006.
Jimmie was a devoted father, an avid sports fan and automotive enthusiast. He was a loyal man to family, friends and loved ones. He was a pillar of the community.
Jimmie leaves to cherish his memory his sons: Jimmy Ganter Jr and Antrone Ganter, his grandchildren: Brittany Ganter and Jordan Ganter, and a host of relatives and friends. Jimmie will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
A private funeral service will be held June 15th at Robert L. Adams Mortuary. Repast is open to friends and family June 15th at 2:00pm, Location: 170 W Barclay St, Long Beach, CA.
