Black businesses will be able to network and engage together thanks to a partnership between the office of Councilwoman Heather Hutt and Black Under New Management to sponsor business mixers.
The business mixer takes place on Sunday, May 7, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Violet Noir, located at 4822 W Adams Blvd. in Los Angeles. Rocsii Frank of the Source LA will host the event and Sharon Elefant of The Plug non-profit will be the special guest speaker.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will be allocated to a local non-profit in District 10, Violet Project Inc., “Project Prom” initiative. Violet Projects aims to provide direct financial resources to inner-city schools. For the business mixer, “Project Prom” will donate money to seniors at Dorsey High School who need assistance to prepare for their prom.

“As Councilwoman for the Tenth District, I am proud to be working with our local businesses and non-profit organizations to create economic opportunities in the Tenth District,” said Hutt.
“I am excited to work with Black Under New Management along with Violet Projects for our Business Mixer, and I invite the entire community to join us for a day of networking and philanthropy!
“By allocating the event’s profits to support Violet Projects’ Project Prom Initiative, we are giving back to our community, giving our youth an opportunity to feel prepared and special during their prom. These efforts are a direct example of how our local businesses are the backbone of the community, and should be poured into as often as possible,” she noted.
Tickets for the event are $75, and available for purchase NOW at blackundernewmanagement.eventbrite.com. Brunch is included with every ticket purchase. For more information, please visit: https://councildistrict10.lacity.gov/.
