Celebration of Life Service for Bishop L. Daniel Williams takes place on March 1, at 11 a.m., at Citizens of Zion Baptist Church, 12930 S. Lime Ave., in Compton, said Pastor Bobby Newman, Jr.  Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Sr., Williams’ father in the ministry, and Bishop Rudolph W. McKissick, Jr., both of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church in Jacksonville, FL, will give eulogies. Serving in the ministry for 44 years, Williams was prominent in both the faith and civic communities.  He worked with faith leaders, elected officials and community members to address social issues affecting disadvantaged people. Greater New Bethel Baptist Church hosts the Fellowship Baptist District Association Evangelical Board on March 4-6, at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m., at 601 E. 99th St., in Inglewood, said Pastor Rickey T. Fennell Jr., host. Speakers include Dr. Kenneth Hall, Dr. Welton Pleasant, Dr. Joe B. Hardwick, Dr. R.A. Williams and Dr. Ralph D. West.

Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church presents its 17th Annual Women’s Conference on March 8-9, and Women’s Day on March 10, at 5300 S. Denker Ave., in Los Angeles, said Pastor DeNon A. Porter. Also, the Women’s Chorus Musical is March 10, at 4 p.m. The theme is “Women of God, Being Kind to All, Challenging One Another With The Word of God.” Sister Valencia Evans and Sister China Maxey are the co-chairs. AME Community Lenten Caravan hosted by eight AME churches kicks-off March 13, at 7 p.m., at Price Chapel AME Church, 4000 W. Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles, said host Pastor Benjamin Hollins. Pastor Dwaine Jackson of Bryant Temple AME will preach. Five more services leading up to Resurrection Sunday will be held to provide spiritual renewal for believers and raise funds to assist local nonprofits. The host churches are First AME – Pasadena, 1700 N. Raymond Ave., in Paaenda on March 20; Brookins-Kirkland Community AME, 3719 W. Slauson Ave., in Los Angeles on March 27; New Philadelphia AME, 6380 Orange Ave., in Long Beach on April 3; Ward AME, 1177 W. 25th St., on April 10; and Bethel AME, 7900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles on April 17.

Westwood Presbyterian Church presents Mozart Requiem on April 7, at 5 p.m., at 10822 Wilshire Blvd., in Los Angeles. George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah,” will be performed. Dan Redfeld will direct soprano Christina Borgioli, alto Nandani Maria Sinha, tenor Orson Van Gay, bass Matthew Lewis, and the WPC Chacel Choir and Chamber Symphony.  The donation is $20 for adults, $10 for students and free for children under 18.
