SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Congratulations to Brian K. Williams, Esq.

AABLI Class #4 alumnus Brian K. Williams, Esq., was appointed by the Los Angeles County Supervisors to the first-ever Civilian Oversight Commission for the Sheriff’s Department. The commission’s mandate is “to promote transparency in law enforcement and restore public trust.”

“I’m looking forward to working with the other member agencies to make what I think will be the model law enforcement agency in the nation,” said Williams, who will serve as executive director of the commission.

A criminal defense and civil litigation attorney, Williams has handled matters in both state and federal court, trying more than 100 cases. He has served as president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southern California, one of the nation’s preeminent educational programs for youth.

Williams also served as executive director of the Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN), a leadership development program of national prominence. Prior to joining SCLN, he was Director of Government Affairs for the Southern California Association of Governments.
