The Southern California Conference AME Women In Ministry (SCC WIM) will host their Annual Convention on Wednesday, Oct 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Los Angeles Hilton Airport Hotel.

The symposium will be among the featured activities at the Southern California Annual Conference of the 5th Episcopal District of the AME Church. Bishop Clement W. Fugh is the presiding prelate, the Rev. Darryl Walker of New Philadelphia AME Church is the host pastor, and the Rev. Carolyn Baskin-Bell is the 5th District Women In Ministry president.

“We are looking forward to an exceptional gathering of learning, fellowship and empowerment,” said the Rev. Dr. Charolyn Jones, conference coordinator.

The convention will include presentations by the Rev. Sandra Smith Blair, former Connectional AME/WIM president; the Rev. Gloria Morrow, PhD, director of Behavioral Health for the Molina Medical Group; and the Rev. Jameka Redmond, district leader and trainer with Primerica. The registration is $55.

On Thursday, Oct 26, the Rev. Francine Brookins, Esq., will preach at the Noon Hour of Power. Brookins is the pastor of Bethel AME Church in Fontana and a 2020 candidate for bishop.

Other activities include a prayer breakfast on Friday, Oct 27, at 6:45 a.m. The donation is $50.
