Los Angeles native Alex Linton was recently promoted to battalion chief with the L.A. County Fire Department. His appointment is the latest in long career of public service.
Initially hired as a fire fighter, Linton previously served as a paramedic, engineer, and captain at LACoFD. Prior to joining the L.A. County, he worked at Glendale Fire Department and served more than 15 years at Southern California Gas Company.

According to his colleagues, Linton always seeks opportunities to serve others whether in a personal or professional capacity. Married for 41 years, he has three children and 10 grandchildren.
