Deacons and ministers will be officially dedicated to the service of God at the Ordination and Consecration Worship sponsored by of Agape Church of Los Angeles.
The program takes place on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 3:30 p.m., at Agape’s sanctuary located at Consolidated Plaza, 3725 Don Felipe Drive in Los Angeles. The special guests include retired AME Bishop Theodore Larry Kirkland, Sr., and the Gospel Music Workshop of America – L.A. Chapter choir.
“Everyone is invited to join us for this special fellowship,” said Bishop Craig A. Worsham, senior pastor. “You and your family will be uplifted and encouraged by the preaching of Bishop Theodore Larry Kirkland, Sr., and the music by the Gospel Music Workshop of America – L.A. Chapter choir.”
Kirkland, who is renowned for delivering powerful sermons, served from 1996 to 2016 as a bishop in the AME Church. During his tenure, he was the presiding prelate of the 5th, 9th and 17th episcopal districts as well as the denomination’s Ecumenical Officer and president of the Council of Bishops.
For nearly 20 years, Kirkland was the spiritual leader of Brookins Community AME Church in Los Angeles. An author of several books on evangelism, he continues to advise clergy, elected officials and national leaders on issues such as voter’s registration, police brutality, and economic empowerment.
