The Museum of African American Art (MAAA) presents its annual “Lighting of the Christmas Tree” celebration. The event takes place November 13, 2p.m. to 5p.m. located in the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza – at 4005 Crenshaw Blvd., 3rd floor Macys, Los Angeles, CA. 90008

For forty years, the MAAA, a non-profit 501.c.3 organization, offering free admission, has welcomed thousands of visitors of all backgrounds and age groups, including school children, into the museum. The MAAA is cultural and educational institution dedicated to the interpretation, promotion, and preservation of art by or about people of
African descent; and their contribution to world culture.

The annual Lighting of the Tree Celebration marks the opening of the holiday shopping season at the MAAA. One hundred percent (100%) of proceeds from sales in the Gift Shop goes to support the continued operations of the MAAA.

This day of celebration is dedicated to the families of the greater Los Angeles community. Wendy Raquel Robinson, actress & co-founder of Amazing Grace Conservatory, serves as event host. Program activities will include performances by the West Angeles Church of God in Christ Angelic Children’s Choir; story-telling; and other exciting and fun activities.
