Sheriff’s deputies continued the search Monday for whoever killed a mother and son in a car-to-car shooting in Carson.
The victims were shot on the 19500 block of East Tillman Avenue on February 27, just before midnight, according to Deputy Mike Barraza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The coroner’s office identified them as 54-year-old Michelle Kelly-Love and 27-year-old Jordan Love.
They were in a car with the man’s grandmother and shots were fired when another vehicle pulled up to the house, a news videographer reported from the scene.
Michelle Kelly-Love died in the vehicle while it was in the driveway. The man got out of the car and made it to the lawn where he collapsed and died, the videographer reported. The grandmother was not injured.
Neighbors said the man was not known to be a gang member, but noted that people were often seen going in and out of the house because it was used as a recording studio.
Anyone with information on the murder is asked to call the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
