The hit program “Married to Medicine” on Bravo started its third season in June and it is one of several successful shows on the network. The show revolves around the lives of six Atlanta women whose lives are centered in the healthcare field either by profession or by their spouse.
One of the most vibrant personalities on the show is Quad Webb-Lunceford. Known for her sassy personality and business savvy talk she has become a favorite for viewers.
Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Lunceford is a graduate of Tennessee Stat University where she received her bachelors in biology. She has worked in the medical sales division for over 10 years as a sales representative. So, her knowledge contributed to her savvy marketing and sales ideas for her personal business endeavors and charity work. She is the owner and founder of the dog clothing line Picture Perfect Pup. Quad is also married to Atlanta psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Lunceford.
The reality show maven spoke to us about her business and experiences while taping season three of “Married to Medicine”.
Amen Oyiboke (AO): Being on a reality show, what are some of the hurdles you face from outside people who are not involved in the show?
Quad Lunceford (QWL): People outside of the show tend to have a particular perception of you based on what they see on TV. The producers can turn a 30-minute conversation into a 3-minute conversation and completely alter the context.
AO: Is it stressful taping? How do you balance out taping and your personal life that isn’t captured on camera?
QWL: It’s not stressful taping, but it’s interesting to see what ends up in the episodes week after week.
AO: Season three has started already, what were some of the challenges you experienced while filming?
QWL: It was challenging to be put in a compromising position where I had to protect myself and keep my composure when a glass was thrown at my face by a cast mate.
AO: Reality shows are infamous for having on camera fights how do you recuperate from that? How are you different from other reality stars?
QWL: Reality shows are infamous for on camera fights because people want to tune in to see drama each week. The more drama the higher the ratings are for the show. I’m not proud of my actions during my altercation on “Married to Medicine”, but I was only protecting myself when I was threatened.
AO: What are some of your favorite moments from season three?
QWL: Becoming a brand contributor for BCBG and spending time with my husband on the beach, which you will see this season.
AO: So you’re into fashion. What are some business endeavors you haven’t tried that you would like to venture into?
QWL: I would like to venture into designing a line of clothing for women.
AO: You already have one business the Picture Perfect Pup. Where did that idea come from?
QWL: I was constantly disappointed in the puppy apparel on the market, it would shrink when it was washed and the fabric was cheap. I saw an opening in the marketplace for high quality, luxury puppy apparel and accessories and created my couture line, Picture Perfect Pup?
AO: At the end of the day you have an image you carry on television. What are some things that you want people to be inspired by when they see you on Married to Medicine?
QWL: I want people to be inspired by my strength, resiliency and see that you can turn a passion into a career.
