Guy Stanley Philoche (Salvatore  Demaio)

Bruce Lurie Gallery announces an exhibition of new work  by  celebrated  artist  Guy  Stanley  Philoche, which will be displayed through Mar. 18.  Known for his color field painting style that combines a distressed vintage subject matter  as  a  focal  point,  “Give  Us  Our  Flowers”  is  a  homage  to  the  perseverance  of  the  human  spirit.

While his subject matter is shaped by his own narrative through the lens of the Black experience, the  work  ascends  all  social  constructs  to  engage  and  invites  the  viewer  to  realign  themselves  with  their  inner  consciousness.  Each artwork becomes a poignant reminder of what it is meant to participate in the present and to consciously raise the vibration of others through dignity, self-love and acts of kindness.

Philoche’s work  can  be  found  in  both  the  public  and  private  collections  of  institutions  and  collectors  such  as  George  Clooney,  Uma  Thurman,  Merrill  Lynch,  Deutsche  Bank,  Barclay  Investments  and  Google  among  others.

Bruce Lurie Gallery was  established  in  the  early  1980s  in  New  York’s  East  Village.  With a  continuing  legacy  of  introducing  diverse  emerging  talent  to  the  artworld,  Bruce  Lurie  is  most  noted  for  his  work  with  Leo  Castelli  launching  the  international  career  of  the  renowned  Jean-Michel  Basquiat,  as  well  as  many  others.

Recently relocated to  the  Pacific  Palisades district of Los Angeles,  the  gallery  has  a  particular  focus  on  establishing  emerging  to  mid-career  talent  specializing  in  cutting  edge  pop  art,  street  art,  abstract  minimalism,  photography  and  a  wide  range  of  monumental  sculptors,  punctuated  by special  events  for  high  profile  artists.           …
