Bruce Lurie Gallery announces an exhibition of new work by celebrated artist Guy Stanley Philoche, which will be displayed through Mar. 18. Known for his color field painting style that combines a distressed vintage subject matter as a focal point, “Give Us Our Flowers” is a homage to the perseverance of the human spirit.
While his subject matter is shaped by his own narrative through the lens of the Black experience, the work ascends all social constructs to engage and invites the viewer to realign themselves with their inner consciousness. Each artwork becomes a poignant reminder of what it is meant to participate in the present and to consciously raise the vibration of others through dignity, self-love and acts of kindness.
Philoche’s work can be found in both the public and private collections of institutions and collectors such as George Clooney, Uma Thurman, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, Barclay Investments and Google among others.
