Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration announced the launch of a new website, which helps Californians save money while also fighting to help reverse the potentially catastrophic damage caused by climate change.

The new website is easy to navigate and connects residents with various programs that support the transition to a greener and more sustainable future. These programs include incentives for zero-emission vehicles (ZEV), rebates for home energy upgrades, and turf replacements.

The website was unveiled during Earth Week 2023, which includes the observance of Earth Day on April 22, an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations.

The website is a must-visit as it is part of providing Californians, especially lower-income families and those from disadvantaged communities, access to the state’s unprecedented climate resources.

“We’re making it easier than ever to save money and fight climate change,” said Newsom. “No other state in the nation is doing more to accelerate climate action than California – and thanks to our work with the Legislature, billions of dollars are on the table to help California families go green.

“The unprecedented dollars we’ve invested in climate action are making a real difference in communities across our state, and we’re using every tool at our disposal to achieve a cleaner, greener future for all.”

Money talks, even when it comes to climate change.  Last year’s multi-billion-dollar Climate Commitment Budget, combined with federal funds through the Inflation Reduction Act signed by President Biden, means that Californians can access up to $24,500 to purchase a zero emissions vehicle (ZEV),  thousands of dollars to make home energy upgrades and tax-free rebates for replacing turf to save water.

“As a result of historic investments by the Governor and the Legislature, Californians can now join us in being part of the solution. Our new climate action website is a central hub of information for Californians looking to save money and save the planet” said Yana Garcia, secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency.

The new website represents a significant step in California’s efforts to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions. By providing easy access to programs that support a transition to a greener future, the website aims to encourage more Californians to make the switch to clean energy solutions. In doing so, the state hopes to reduce its carbon footprint and set an example for the rest of the country to follow.
