Bass is a proud daughter of Los Angeles who’s family ties to the entertainment industry date back to the early 1930s when her grandmother worked as an entertainer and teacher at MGM Studios. Currently, two of her brothers own entertainment industry-related companies.
“Karen is the only candidate who shares our democratic values, is committed to choice and has the experience and track record of tackling the difficult and complex problems affecting our city,” said Rosario Dawson. “I’ve seen her work first hand and I know how deeply she cares about Los Angeles; That’s why I’ve been inspired to see so many from the entertainment community recognize this and rally behind her.”
As Speaker of the Assembly, Karen led the fight to pass the Film and Television Tax Credit which she will continue to champion as mayor.
