The Los Angeles Dodgers looked to bounce back after falling to the San Francisco Giants on Monday night and did exactly that. Joey Gallo drilled a three-run homer in the second inning and Max Muncy added two solo shots to lift the Dodgers to a 6-3 win over the Giants on Tuesday night at Chavez Ravine.
Los Angeles moved to 93-42 to stay atop the National League West and are seven wins away from clinching the division. San Francisco fell to 65-69 on the season and saw its four-game winning streak come to end.
Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Anderson (14-3) stayed on the mound until the seventh inning and allowed three runs and eight hits to go along with recording three strikeouts. Closer Craig Kimbrel entered in the ninth and was able to earn his 22nd save of the year.
Lewis Brinson homered to left in the top of the first inning to give the Giants an early 1-0 lead only to see the Dodgers quickly respond.

Gallo connected on his three-run homer to center field in the second to put Los Angeles ahead 3-1 after crushing a pitch off Jarlin García. Trea Turner finished with two hits for the Dodgers while Freddie Freeman and Justin Turner each added one hit.
“Just happened to take a good swing and connect on the ball and the result was good,” said Gallo on his broken bat home run, later saying he wasn’t sure if his bat was already broken or broke on the swing.
“I enjoy being here,” added Gallo. “The lineup we have takes a lot of pressure off. I’m just kind of here. Anybody can take over a game.”
Brandon Crawford added a two-run homer in the sixth for the Giants but it was not enough as Muncy was the star of the night.
Muncy had a two-run homer in the third to go along with a solo shot in the sixth to give the Dodgers a commanding 6-3 advantage.
“Home runs are obviously amazing and I’m happy I hit them, but just seeing the ball fly at the path is better,” Muncy said. “I made a couple mechanical adjustments right before the game.”
Los Angeles will close out its series finale against the Giants on Wednesday afternoon and then prepare for a three-game road series against the Padres beginning on Friday at 6:40 p.m.
