Los Angeles – TEC Leimert, the fastest-growing tech-based nonprofit in South Los Angeles, announces its latest initiative to address limited access to career opportunities in the creative industry for students in underserved Los Angeles communities in South Los Angeles.

The new program is called NXT LVL, an intensive 12-week social media and digital marketing boot camp course for graduating high school seniors and young adults (18-24 years old), currently not enrolled in a four-year college.

The inaugural launch of the program is set for February 19, 2020, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at South LA’s premier technology incubator and cultural hub, Vector 90.

NXT LVL is designed for area youth who have an existing affinity for social media and a desire to expand their resume with marketable skills for the emerging creative economy of social media management within the technology and entertainment industry.

Students accepted into the NXT LVL program will be supplied with Apple Macbooks to be used during workshop sessions and matched with creative industry mentors who will serve as career guides for the students during their training. Upon completion of the program, students will enter into a paid internship at a partnering creative agency.

The NXT LVL program has received an outpouring of support from neighborhood organizations and community leaders, most notably Los Angeles Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson.
