KJLH will be kicking off its 4th annual Women’s Health Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center Concourse Hall Saturday, April 23, from 7am to 4pm.

The event will be broadcast live on KJLH in the morning and will feature health experts including a proctologist from Cedar Sinai speaking on why African Americans should get colonoscopy screenings at 45 instead of 50, Dr. Mclucas discussing Fibroid solutions and a wellness expert explaining why black women have a high toxic load and how household products are a contributing factor. AIDS Healthcare Foundation speaker Dr. Roxanne Cox-Iyamu, an HIV specialist and medical director of AHF Healthcare centers in Washington DC and Maryland will be discussing the number of African American women in heterosexual relationships who are infected with HIV.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters is also attending the Expo and will be discussing her fight for healthcare rights. Radio Host Adai Lamar will be speaking with LeaVell Degree of the Whispers about the changes in his diet and lifestyle after problems with his heart. Front Page Host Dominique DiPrima will host the Wellness Café Panel this year featuring holistic and alternative healing.

Women will be able to get free mammograms at the event. They can pre-register at http://www.alineaevents.com/kjlh. There will be breakout sessions on the upper level covering everything from lung cancer to diabetes.

The station will also be giving away an all-expenses paid trip to the Steve Harvey Neighborhood Awards in Las Vegas, which will include airfare, hotel and tickets to the show.

On the “Healthy Dishes” stage, Lamar will be giving healthy cooking lessons with Chef J.R. Robinson from Season 13 of Fox TV’s Hell’s Kitchen with special guest Leavell Degree of the Whispers. And Tammi Mac will cook up a Healthy Dish with another chef and R and B recording artist “Tank”.

The day’s events will also feature two natural hair panels, with natural hair stylists and Naturals in Hollywood. Kimberly Elise from “Diary of a Mad black Woman” and Tanika Ray will be joining the Natural Hair conversation. In the new Expo hall there will be vendors, give a ways, free massages, free health screenings a wellness center and a fitness zone

At the Major Sponsor AHF booth ladies can step into the Money Machine and grab all the cash they can. Car Pros Kia will be giving away $100 an hour

The day will wind down with special performances by comedians Ron G and Michael Coylar, musical artists such as Kenny Lattimore, Eddie LeVert , the Whispers and Eric Benet
