Ward EDC and Integral Partner to redevelop Casa De Rosas to Serve Veterans

Ward Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has partnered with Integral to transform the historic Casa de Rosas into a campus for homeless single-parent veterans. During a Ground Blessing Ceremony ceremony on August 22, WEDC and Integral staff joined with clergy, elected officials and community leaders to invoke God’s guidance as prepare to redevelop the 29,900 square feet complex into permanent housing with a range of onsite, supportive services.   A passport to wellness is promised at the Community Health Fair sponsored by Ward AME Church. The event is set for Sunday, July 31, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the church’s Margaret Murray Fellowship Hall, 1177 West 25th St., in Los Angeles. The Rev. Dr. Frank Madison Reid III was elected as a bishop in the AME Church on July 11 during the denomination’s 50th General Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson convened service providers, clergy and community leaders at Ward AME Church on February 29th to gain community input on how to address challenges facing the homeless population in South Los Angeles.
