Lincoln Memorial Installs Miller as Pastor

Joyous praise filled the sanctuary of Lincoln Memorial Congregational United Church of Christ on November 10, as members, friends and Central Association leaders gathered for the pastoral installation of the Rev. Wendell C. Miller. With Sister Teresa Henderson-Johnson as the emcee, the spirited service included uplifting music by the senior and youth choirs, powerful prayers and the installation message by the Rev. Steven E. Reid, pastor New Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia. Chef Viveca Finley of Vittles by Viv catered the celebratory meal. Remembering Rev. Dr. James H. Hargett

He was on the board of directors for the “One Church, One Child” program, which promoted African American adoptions with the help of local churches, as well as president of the Friends of Chicago Public Library (1982-1983).

National Council of Churches Endorses Sweeping Initiative to End Racism

The governing board of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA (NCC) enthusiastically endorsed a sweeping initiative to end racism on Nov. 10. This process, beginning with a massive rally on the National Mall in Washington, DC on April 4, 2018, will unfold over several years and will be the most visible and impactful work of the National Council of Churches in its recent history.
