A Nation in Love with Drugs: Supply and Demand

Recently, the U.S. Coast Guard seized a submarine carrying nine tons of cocaine with a street value of $239 million.  I don’t know about you, but I really don’t think that building a wall is going to solve America’s love and lust for drugs both legal and illegal.  

Coast Guard, NTSB Investigators Board Anchor-Dragging Ship In Long Beach

U.S. Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board marine casualty investigators boarded the container ship MSC DANIT,
Saturday in the Port of Long Beach. Prior to the visit, Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Braden Rostad, chief of investigations in L.A. and Long Beach determined that the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) DANIT was involved in an anchor-dragging incident on Jan. 25, 2021, during a weather event that impacted the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

Ocean Search Underway for Missing Boater Near Redondo Beach

A search was underway today in the ocean near Redondo Beach for a person believed to have been aboard a small boat that
capsized.

The search was being conducted by personnel from the U.S. Coast Guard and Los Angeles County lifeguards, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department Lifeguard Division.
 

The person was reported missing when a dinghy capsized late Monday night near the Redondo Beach Harbor, authorities said.

The Haitian Dilemma

This is a painful commentary. Humanity demands that we all be treated with fairness. This country has boasted the guarantee to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Those who live in a world without such assurances hear what we say and see thequality of life that even our poorest of citizens appear to enjoy. So we don’t blame the Haitians for doing what each of us would do if we were in their shoes.
