The Riley Youth Foundation Hosts Fourth AnnualFundraiser Gala

The Riley Youth Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering and motivating youth through mentoring, fitness, sports, dance and educational programs, will host its fourth annual fundraiser gala: “Golfing ‘Fore’ Good” at the all-new Topgolf El Segundo. All proceeds will advance the mission of The Riley Youth Foundation and support the next generation of strong leaders.

Sisters of the Skies and Delta Air Lines Host Fundraiser for Future Black Female Pilots

The purpose of the gala is to seek to improve the current number of Black female pilots which stands roughly north of 150 in the United States for those holding Airline Transport Pilot, Commercial, Military and or Certified Flight instructor licenses. The first gala was held in February 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia honoring the first All-African American Female flight crew. This year the SOS brings fundraiser back to where it began again recognizing Black women who are first in their aviation careers.

Congressional Gold Medal Solidifies Tuskegee Airman Honor

Seven-plus years after her death at age 87 in June 2011, Ms. Conaway Stephens _ who served in the U.S. Army/Air Force from 1945-49  posthumously received the Congressional Gold Medal, the nation’s highest distinguished civilian award, during a luncheon ceremony Saturday at the CHEER Community Center.
