GLAAACC Ed Fund Awards Scholarships to College-Bound Seniors

Two years after schools reopened following the devastating Coronavirus pandemic, the graduation rate for high school seniors in Los Angeles is 87%.  The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce Education Fund and Foundation honored 10 high school seniors who achieved that milestone at their 24th Annual Ed Fund Scholarship Reception.

Culver City Hosts Powerful Black History Month Event

The Black History Month Event in Culver City on Feb. 23 was a powerful and emotional celebration of Black joy, culture, and history. The event was hosted by Vice-Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, School Board Member Triston Ezidore, and Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove at a small business bookstore called Village Wells.

GLAAACC Highlights L.A.’s Next Generation of Black Leaders for Black History Month

As part of its celebration of Black History Month, the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC) hosted “A Dialogue with the Next Generation of Black Leaders” virtually on Thursday, February 16. Cameron Onumah, Ty Bland, Yasmine-Imani McMorrin, Mae Gates, Triston Ezidore, and Los Angeles Sentinel’s own Devyn Bakewell comprised the panel.
