Denzel Washington to Receive AFI Life Achievement Award

The American Film Institute is honoring Denzel Washington with a Life Achievement Award. The organization said Friday that Washington will receive the award at a Gala Tribute on June 6 in Los Angeles. It will be broadcast on TNT.

In The “Equalizer 2,” the two-time Oscar-winner (for “Glory” and “Training Day”) returns to play Robert McCall again, a retired CIA agent who turns vigilante to dole out street justice on behalf of the downtrodden.
