CME SoCal Region Holds 33rd Annual Conference

The Christian Methodist Episcopal Church recently held its 33rd Southern California Annual Conference at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church in Los Angeles. The theme was “The Investment Factor: Expressing God’s Love through Missions and Outreach!” Bishop Bobby R. Best, presiding prelate of the Ninth Episcopal District, requested Bishop Teresa Jefferson-Snorton, presiding prelate of the Fifth Episcopal District, to oversee the proceedings in his absence. Other leaders included the Rev. Travis A. Morris, host presiding elder of the Los Angeles-San Diego District; the Rev. Mark A. Hardin, presiding elder of the Los Angeles District; and the Rev. Bernard M. Jackson, host pastor.

Curry Temple CME Plans Men and Women’s Day

Annual Men’s and Women’s Day is set for Sunday, September 18, at Curry Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 322 West Rosecrans Ave., in Compton. The theme is “Men and Women of Honor” and Deuteronomy 26:18 is the scriptural reference.  Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Snead and Mr. and Mrs. Elliott J. White are the program co-chairs. Pastor Joseph C. Miles College President Dr. George T. French, Jr., will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, October 11, at the 2015 National Connectional Lay Day celebration of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.   The 3:30 p.m. celebration will take place at Lewis Metropolitan CME, 4900 S. Western Ave., in Los Angeles.
