Some might think Stephen Silas is just another coach with the right last name and lineage. But the Rockets’ new head coach is much more than the son of one of the best coaches the NBA has known.
Los Angeles Lakers fans poured into Staples Center ahead of the home opener against the Houston Rockets on Saturday, invigorated to usher in the new “Showtime” era with LeBron James as the star. What happened was a different type of “showtime”. In the fourth quarter several members of these teams had multiple physical altercations and oddly enough, the fracas did not dim the excitement but fostered it.
As most expected, the Rockets decided to bring the band back together, signing Patrick Beverley and Corey Brewer to multi-year deals over the holiday weekend.
