Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, the largest African American owned law firm in California, celebrated a major milestone in the firm’s history on the evening of Saturday, August 19. The 80th year anniversary had been long awaited, and the celebration was meticulously planned, against the backdrop of eight decades of excellence.
Eight decades of outstanding service is not easy to achieve, but IMW Law marked that pinnacle in 2023. The heralded firm, known as Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, making it one of the oldest and largest African American-owned law firms in the nation.
Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed prominent Los Angeles attorney, Rickey Ivie to the Commission on Judicial Performance. Newsom made the announcement on May 27.
The evening was an affair of fun, food, music, dance and cultural entertainment.

A Federal jury recently denied a woman monetary compensation in L.A. County, where she attempted to sue the coroner for falsely deeming her husband’s death a homicide and subsequently suggesting she was responsible. L.A based legal team Ivie, McNeill and Wyatt represented the coroner, Yulai Wang, helping him to avoid a $10 million pay out to the plaintiff, Lois Goodman, a professional tennis umpire.
