Marvin Gaye Stamp Unveiled Today and Post Office in South Los Angeles to Be Named After Icon

LOS ANGELES — A first-day-of-issue event for the commemorative stamp honoring the late soul singer Marvin Gaye will be held Tuesday at the Greek Theatre on the 80th anniversary of his birth. The stamp is part of the Postal Service’s Music Icons series. Its design features a portrait of Gaye inspired by historic photographs. The stamp pane is designed to resemble a vintage 45 rpm record sleeve.
