Jacqueline Stewart Appointed Chief Artistic and Programming Officer of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures

The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures announced that scholar, programmer, and educator Jacqueline Stewart has been named Chief Artistic and Programming Officer. In this new executive position, Stewart will lead strategy and planning for the Academy Museum’s curatorial, educational, and public programming initiatives, including exhibitions, screenings, symposia, publications, workshops, and K-12 programs.

New Interactive Website Featuring Henry Louis Gates, Tracks Slave Voyages

The new slave voyages website counts as the product of three years of development by a multi-disciplinary team of historians, librarians, curriculum specialists, cartographers, computer programmers, and web designers, in consultation with scholars of the slave trade from universities in Europe, Africa, South America, and North America.
