The 38th Annual Indie Sprit Awards, sponsored by Film Independent, featuredgender neutral acting categories, as well as the introduction of a Best Breakthrough Performance award.
The weather was excellent, and the atmosphere was filled with lots of beautiful smiles, and excitement on July 10 as the cast, crew, and filmmakers, of the new movie “Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank” joined celebrity families, for a special “Family Day” held at Paramount Picture Studios in Hollywood.
The Favourite and Roma tied for the most Oscar nominations with 10 each, thereby besting Golden Globe Best Picture-winners Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody which only landed 5 apiece. Still, the most surprising news is the love lavished by the Academy on Spike Lee, who was nominated for Best Director for the first time in his 40-year career.
