The Gathering Spot (TGS) Los Angeles hosted a night of opulence during their second annual Black Excellence Awards Ceremony sponsored by Crown Royal on Monday, Feb. 20, in West Adams. New Season of ‘GENIUS’ Explores Lives of MLK and Malcolm X

The anticipated new season of the Emmy Award-winning anthology from National Geographic, “GENIUS: MLK/X,” premiered in Los Angeles on  Jan. 29, at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. The fourth installation of the limited series was televised Feb. 1 and will run two new episodes each week.

California Connect Holds Free Health and Resource Fair for the Community

California Connect held a free health and resource fair for the community at the Earvin “Magic” Johnson Recreation Area on Thursday, Feb. 1. The event had 43 vendors including representatives for L.A. County Supervisor Holly Mitchell and Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson offices.

Restoration Community Development Corporation Recognized for Humanitarian Services

On Sunday, Jan. 28, the office of the Honorable Holly Mitchell, Los Angeles County Supervisor, District #2, presented proclamations of appreciation to the Restoration Community Development Corporation (RCDC) at the Cathedral of Christ Temple Church of Christ (Holiness) USA (CCTCC). Assemblyman Bryan Hosts Holiday Event in Leimert Park 

On Sunday, Dec.17, Assemblymember Isaac G. Bryan (D-55th) held his third annual Christmas in the Park Celebration in Leimert Park. The community lined up and around the park to play in the snow, take pics with Santa Claus, and receive gifts and information.
