Sophomore forward Adem Bona scored 22 of his career-high 28 points in the second half to lead the UCLA Bruins to a 75-44 win over Saint Francis in their season opener on Monday evening at Pauley Pavilion.
The second-seeded UCLA Bruins (30-5, 18-2 Pac-12) proved they were too much for the 15th-seeded UNC Asheville Bulldogs, beating them in the first round of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament, 86-53.
The atmosphere was electric in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas as the No. 1 seed UCLA Bruins men’s basketball team (29-5) lost a heartbreaker to the Arizona Wildcats (28-6) in the Pac- 12 title game for the second straight year, 61-59, on Saturday night.
