The Los Angeles Clippers long awaited unveiling of the Intuit Dome in Inglewood came on Monday night in an exhibition game.
The Opening of the Intuit Dome starts a new chapter in the history of Inglewood. Along with a ribbon cutting ceremony, pop star Bruno Mars headlined a two-night concert series. Several celebrities and public figures were in attendance to celebrate a night that represented new beginnings and music.
“There will be a significant peace to fully realize the renaissance of our city,” said Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Jr. during the “City of Inglewood State of the City: An Economic Summit 2024” at the Intuit Dome.
The Los Angeles Clippers recently partnered with Intuit and Aspiration to plant trees in Edward Vincent Park. This event is part of the franchise’s commitment to plant 1,000 trees in Inglewood ahead of the Intuit Dome’s grand opening in 2024.
The region is coming to Inglewood for jobs, for housing and for entertainment. And it is incumbent upon us, to make sure that they get there with ease – not congested streets and cramped parking spots. The Inglewood Transit Connector (ITC) would accomplish exactly that – an automated transit system that would connect directly from Metro’s Downtown Inglewood K Station to the front doors of world-class entertainment venues, vibrant, technology-driven commercial zones and new mixed-use and modern housing opportunities.
Construction on the Dome is a daily collaboration with all trade partners including the Los Angeles Clippers and the financial software company Intuit.
